Dear Parade Participants,
Welcome to the seventh annual Lane County Veteran’s Day Parade in Springfield! We are
Proud to have you Participate in honoring our Country’s’ Veterans. This year’s parade will be
Sunday November 9th 2008, beginning at 1:30 PM Sharp! The cost is a $10 donation per
entry. Deadline for this year’s parade entry is Friday November 7th, 2008. The theme for this
year’s parade is:
“Citizen Soldiers”
Parade Route:
The check-in headquarters is the parking lot at Mohawk and Centennial. The parade will follow
the Springfield annual Christmas Parade route. It will proceed SOUTH to Main Street, WEST to
Pioneer Parkway, NORTH to "B", and "C" Streets to disembark.
Your parade line up number will be provided when you check in. Check-in time will start at
around 10:00 AM. Please designate one representative from your group to check in at the
staging area. This must be done or you will not be allowed on the parade route. Our final check-
in list goes to the announcer at the review stand on the corner of 14th and Main Street at 12:30.
All entries are lined out and decisions are made as to who should go where. Great care has
been taken to be fair to everyone. We also ask equestrian entries to please furnish a
“pooper scooper” to follow your entry.
If you have several people in your entry, please let them know your line-up number and the
name of the entry as submitted. If they need our assistance in finding you, this information will
be very helpful.
Please note the deadline date on your application and make sure your entry is submitted by
that time. You are encouraged to utilize this website by clicking on the "entry form" button and
by following the outline. Remember to click the "submit" button when you have finished your
entry.
We also gladly accept donations since we are a non-profit organization and depend solely
upon the contributions from members and the public. We do have a non-profit status and will
provide that number for tax credit upon request.
